Biometric Screening Program

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama’s Biometric Screening Program launched in January 2020 as a way to expand the pharmacist’s role in caring for Blue Cross patients.

The Biometric Screening Program works in conjunction with wellness programs set by participating employer groups. As part of the wellness programs, patients are encouraged to have a biometric screening performed each year. These screenings may be performed by a pharmacist at a participating pharmacy in our network. Participating pharmacies are reimbursed for conducting these biometric screenings.
